Description: The CDFM Module 1 Mini-Course provides 8-hours of intensive instruction focused on the material covered in the Enhanced Defense Financial Management Training Course (EDFMTC) related to the management of government resources. The course is intended for those who have completed a significant amount of exam preparation, and wish to “top off” or refresh their knowledge prior to taking the exam. Separate registration and payment is required. Does not include EDFMTC textbook, CDFM Program enrollment, or exam.

Description: The Acquisition Business Management CDFM Module 4 course is a two-day (16 hour) comprehensive overview of the rules governing the acquisition of major Defense systems from the Program Manager’s perspective and incorporates the concepts and rules outlined in the Defense Acquisition Guidebook as well as DoDI 5000.02. The course is designed for DoD financial management personnel as well as those working in the Acquisition field and is intended for individuals who have elected to pursue the CDFM with Acquisition Specialty (CDFM-A).

Course fee does not include CDFM Program enrollment or exam. Individuals who already hold the CDFM can contact the ASMC Certification Department (see contact information below) to have a cost-free enrollment extension added to their account.

Pre-PDI Course Textbooks

The textbook being used for the CDFM Modules 1, 2, and 3 Mini-Courses is the 2018 Enhanced Defense Financial Management Training Course (EDFMTC) textbook. If you already have a copy of the 2018 textbook, bring it with you to your mini-course(s). To have a textbook waiting for you to pick up onsite at the CDFM table at PDI, purchase it with your Pre-PDI course registration (or after registering, purchase it on the PDI registration update site here). Alternatively, to have the textbook shipped to you more than 3 weeks before PDI, purchase a textbook here.

The Module 4 Acquisition textbook is included in the cost of the Module 4 Acquisition Course and will be provided in the classroom here.

CDFM Testing at PDI

The CDFM Candidate Handbook is a critical resource for exam preparation. Get a free copy of the CDFM Candidate Handbook here.

Testing Eligibility
You must be enrolled in the CDFM Program in order to purchase and sit for an exam at PDI 2020.  To check your enrollment status, please log into your account here and click on "Update Profile" to view your enrollment expiration date.

If your enrollment will expire before your testing date, please contact the Certification Department for assistance (see contact information below). Individuals who are already CDFM certified and want to take the Module 4 exam to earn the Acquisition Specialty (CDFM-A) should contact the Certification Department (see contact information below) to have a cost-free enrollment added to your account.

Visit www.asmconline.org/cdfm/fees for program enrollment fees, and www.asmconline.org/cdfm for additional details on the certification process. Mini-course fees do not include program enrollment or exams.

Testing Reservations
We are offering paper-and-pencil testing with results sent within 24 hours. PDI 2020 testing reservations can be made when registering for PDI or later on in the PDI Registration Update website. Select your testing appointment(s) and pay the non-refundable $99 exam fee for each appointment, indicating which exam you intend to take.

Changing Testing Reservation at PDI
You can change the testing appointment after purchase, but the exam(s) can only be taken at PDI 2020. All 4 CDFM module exams are available and can be taken in any order. More than one exam can be taken on the same day, but only one exam can be taken per testing session. Note: The retake waiting period is 14 days for a 1st retake and 28 days for additional retakes of the same module.

Exam Expiration
PDI 2020 exam fees are non-refundable and can only be used at PDI 2020.
If you do not show up for your testing appointment - you must reschedule and take the exam by the end of PDI 2020, otherwise your exam fee will be forfeited.

Exam Authorization Conversion
If you have an unused Pearson VUE exam authorization that you would like to use at PDI, please contact the Certification Department at certification@asmconline.org or (703) 549-0360 for assistance.

Testing Sessions
If you miss your testing session, you must reschedule and take the exam by the end of PDI 2020, otherwise your exam fee will be forfeited.

Please show up outside the testing room 10-15 minutes before your testing start time with a valid, government-issued, photo ID. All personal items, including study materials, jackets, purses, and cell phones (turned off) must be placed against the testing room wall. No cell phone or calculator use is allowed in the testing room.

Your name badge will reflect your status as a CDFM, CDFM-A, CDFM Ret., or CDFM-A Ret. as of the date the PDI name badges are printed.

CDFM and CDFM-A ribbons for your name badge are available at registration and the CDFM Table. If you earn the CDFM or CDFM-A while testing at PDI, come see us at the CDFM Table for a complimentary lapel pin!
